Dental professionals face high rates of musculoskeletal pain due to the physical demands of clinical work. This course offers practical, wellness-based strategies to reduce risk and improve overall health. Topics include nutrition, hydration, ergonomic considerations, mini-breaks, warm-up and cool-down routines, and pain management techniques, all aimed at helping practitioners stay healthy, mobile, and pain-free throughout their careers.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
-Recognize key contributors to musculoskeletal pain in dentistry.-Understand how daily habits like nutrition, hydration, positioning, and movement impact practitioner health.
- Apply simple, effective strategies to prevent and manage pain in the clinical setting.
With over 30 years of experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer, Susan Brimacombe, MS, ATC has spent her career helping individuals recover from injury and build sustainable, healthy movement habits. After years of working in collegiate and clinical sports medicine, she now is using that expertise to educate and guide the dental community. Her new focus includes ergonomic considerations, movement-based strategies, and supplemental therapies tailored to the unique physical demands of dental practice. Susan's mission is to help dental professionals stay strong, pain-free, and resilient in their careers.
